That's a dramatic shift. It would've been better to have the bass keep going a while and then drop to just percussion.

Thing is, these days you will rarely hear and intro or outro as the majority of stuff is just mixed. It is very sloppy but aslong as he can mix in and out with it he wont care.

name one, that's not a radio edit. A lot of old stuff (pre-2007) has at least 1 minute or longer intro/outros

I think that face in the crowd was originally on CLXH, then last minute chosen for a full track part on a HTID album and Hixxy must have put together any old sloppy outro onto it.
There's been so many like the kick only recon tracks which was odd because at that time intro's were still a key part of the next track mixing in.
Back in the day there were a few but not many with no kickdrum buildups that couldn't really be mixed in (like forever autumn remix, kaos's dario g ripoff track) but they were designed to be intro tracks and had dj friendly outro's.

You can mix the intro of Kaos's remix of Dario G.

It's a double-edged sword. The simplest outros and intros mix the best, but they're invariably more boring.
Less boring ones make for a more muddy mix.
I've always sucked at them. I think I'm getting it though..
