Just listening to Darren Styles Live at Creamfields 2025, SOLID playlist but I have noticed him, hixxy, gammer and others mainly just rely on filters at the end of each track to go to some swish fade out between tracks or a hardcut between tracks now. Why is this? I use to love it when DJs actually mixed beats over beats and you get some bouncy mixes going, like brisk, Scott Brown, Sharkey, Marc Smith etc. There just doesnt seem to be any mixing now. Am I just a miserable **** or has others noticed this?

I have noticed it too. Much preferred the days of vinyl.

Laziness, the style of music and how these days it's more of a performance.
People pay to go to the events as it's Darren Styles and so they don't care what or how he mixes. As no doubt he's sick of the scene now and is exclusively in it for the money, he'll give the fans what they want with him on the decks playing any old crap and they'll love it.
As long as he's there, they'll dance around to sped up spice girls music and say it was a great evening at the end.

I mean, take a look on Junodownload or Beatport at the track times of "extended" versions: Artists are churning out tracks under 4:00, which means tracks no longer come with a mixable intro, so DJs who do want to mix, only have 20 seconds to play with. Same with the outro.
Shout out to the artists still making 5:00+ tracks so DJs can actually mix.

Not only is it providing less time to mix. It is affecting the style completely as in that the traditional mixable-intro-outro way was a signature part of the sound. Maybe it's because I started mixing in the late 90's but, to me, mixing Hardcore has, in a good way, more of a resemblance to mixing trance. Track selection is becoming a forgotten art. Crazy transition-like effects can be built into the track, and knowing your tracks was and probably is still, to me, the more important skill.

I feel that hardcore should at least be 6 in 6 out. But prefer 8 in 8 out personally. This is why I love Scott Brown tunes so much.Make tracks mixable again!
