Right i need a cable to go from my pc to my tv iv looked on ebay and tbh most of it is gibberish to me.

I want one (if they exist) that goes straight from the monitor cable hole on the pc to a scart.

If anyone can tell me the name/type of wire im looking for or even link to one on ebay it would be very much appreciated :)

Thanx in advance

looks like you can get Scart to VGA - but it will probably look like shit (very very fuzzy) if its a regular analogue tv...

what kind of inputs does your tv have?

Actually euro scart and vga are pretty much the same. It used to require making the cable yourself and using a program on the computer end to change how it sends the signal. However AFAIK, these days there should be cables that don't require that. But a shitty picture just means its sending a "computer" signal to a "TV", which it either does because its not a converter or its a shitty converter. You can program your computer to send it correctly however

If your computer has S-Video out the shite but easy way is to just use a s-video -> scart adapter. Composite is just too shitty to even bother. Vga -> scart should give the best picture if you dont have HDMI. But it probably wount be "plug'n'play"

Wasn't sure what you were asking for until I read the other posts. My TV let's me plug from my computer into it with either RGB, or HDMI.

No you cant, VGA = analog, HDMI = digital. compleatly diffrent things. If your motherboard allows that type of converters, thats because the motherboard can send a digital signal through the VGA port AFAIK.

DVI is the same as HDMI, just without the sound. So a DVI is just as good if not better then HDMI, when it comes to video. HDMI is just an outdated "standard" that was shite before it was even released. thats why we started getting HDMI 1.0, HDMI 1.1, HDMI 1.2 etc. Its existing technology in another type of cable. But it has become a de facto standard in home theater so what can you do.

err some dvi connections don't send audio so you'd need a seperate audio cable

scart is a scary connection =p reminds me of scsi
