The UK Rave scene isn't at it's best these days sadly. Our line ups include the 'top guns' (Hixxy, Styles, Breeze, Sy, Unknown, Squad E ect) and a few locals who all play the same thing except for one person who makes the effort to stand out.
Back in the late 80s- mid 90s we had one of the best rave scenes in the world where only The Dutch tried to out do us lol
didn't you once say that you've never been to a rave?
I have done a couple of times but apart from an illegal free party & a Hardstyle night the 'raves' I went to didn't quite tickle my taste buds

everytime i see you talking about hardcore its always "the 80s and 90s were soo much better" which, in my opinion is false.
The hardcore today is attracting alot, and i mean alot, of young listeners and fans. from the chessy, to the underground, hardcore now is bigger then the 80s or 90s (in my opinion).
I started listening to hardcore when i was 14 (i am now 18) and it never gets boring or old or whatever. its still alive and will only get bigger

Well, i can agree, raves can be great sober as well, i had many like this. If the music is good, you dont need anything else. The other times I drink some alcohol (vodka orange, yum), and it gives a plus, if i dont get too sleepy of it, lol.

well in all honesty then ur opinion has no validity since you weren't ever a part of the scene. just listening to the music and watching youtube vids doesn't mean you can make any valid points about the scene. criticize the music but really don't talk about a scene that you were too young and/or too negligent, to fully experience.

hardcore parties outside of the UK usually arent, none of the ones i've ever been to anyway.
we have some of the biggest raves in the world?
i'd say 30,000 large rave is pretty profitable. We have one almost every two months.
Not to mention the hardstyle raves... Defqon and Qdance....
Japan also has huge raves as far as im aware? Holland obviously as well. And i'd think a LOT of europe.
It's not 'raves out of the uk' that are less profitable, it's small production companies. If you spend the money, you'll make the money.
wow i don't think anywhere in the US we see 30k ppl raves! the most i've been to is at a 20k rave here in Houston called Tranzit back in 2000. man it was awesome! too bad that it was such a huge drug issue that they pretty much banned raves in and around the area.
but they have brought back 10k+ ppl raves in Austin, which is a good 3hrs from me. the only downside is that Hardcore gets looked over, as we only get 1 top-name dj. good thing is that the last 1 we had Brisk! and they're trying to get him back again for the summer!

So where do I find more raves? is it mostly word of mouth or what.
I just got my first taste of hardcore in the states and I want more.
Most of the events i've seen have trance and electro and I don't want that.
