In the shit at the moment with this pedal thing, It was Maclaren prams a couple of months ago, Is it me or is anyone else starting to realise when companies costcut with cheap labour, their product is not up to scatch, Hotpoint were the biggest employers in my area (Rhyl) but closed their factory a few months ago and moved it to Poland, It will come back to haunt them aswell, Our washing machine broke down last year and the repairer said he'd rather buy a Beko(cheap make) than a hotpoint now! Rant over!

It's a conspiracy.
Everything is made to break, so you have to buy more.
i.e. computers break down easily, phones are cheaply made, cars are shit quality, etc.

when companies only care about the bottom line instead of making quality a priority, there will be shit products out there. everything just is getting shittier (wow that sounds so negative, but it's really true. people make the crappiest shit they can get away with)

and yeah, it is too bad about them. they did make amazing cars back in the 90's, but now the interiors feel so cheap! i sat in a matrix recently and it just seemed like garbage upholstery on the seats and cheap dash board.
i am sure that silver-on-plastic crap around the gauges wlll be peeling in less than 5 years. not that it has much to do with the pedals, but they cheaped out on everything. i bet toyota is regretting it now.

I actually sat in a new Matrix recently as well, quality wasn't even close to my old 91' Celica
but I guess thats a sports car vs. economy
interesting random fact from the car nut:
in the 90's Toyota had 3 sports cars available
MR2, Supra and the Celica
now they have none :(
sorry for off topic but the title of the thread is Toyota :)

Here the consumer laws forces the company to replace the product if it breaks because of faulty manufacturing before its expected lifetime. Doesn't matter if it has warranty or not.

If people bothered to study the sales of goods act they would realise it's the same here. ;) At the very least you are entitled to some compensation if it breaks outside of its expected lifetime regardless of it being under warranty or not.

thats because everyone had money or borrowed money, and stuck to the "if its broke buy new" now everyones tigheining their belts we are back to wanting stuff that lasts, companies will soon have to spend again to make sure this happens!
