anybody gonna be watching the opening/closing ceremonies, or any of the games?
lately i've been watching some bobsledding, speedskating, and 1/2pike games on tv so i'll probably be watching some of that for the olympics.

I always like watching the winter olympics cause Britain are crap at it, so we are the underdogs in everything which makes it feel better when we get a medal.
Bobsleigh, Skiing, curling, luge, snowboarding, skeleton...will try and watch all these.

will be watching it all very closely (obviously) but i have to coach a hockey game during the opening ceremonies so i'll have to stay up late an watch the replay. hope they're done well
sooo freaking nervous/excited for the hockey as too...if we win it will be quite possibly the best day of my life to date...if canada doesnt win gold which will be tough to do as good as we are..well i will be very very sad and no hardcore of any kind will fix it for a long while.

anyone catch the ethiopian skier Robel Teklemariam?
won't be watching the opening ceremonies live as I'll be at work but I'm dvring it. have had quiet a bit of speedskating on tv lately.
usually watch anything that is on when I'll be home...except figure skating =P
just glad vancouver is finally getting some snow!

i live about 4 hours from vancouver and what a joke the olympics are shaping up to be.
apparently snow is getting trucked in from some far off mountain because at lower altitudes, we have not actually had snow (at least where i live) since december.
there was a guy i saw yesterday wearing fhucking shorts!! in february!!
anyway, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out. in my opinion it is a colossal waste of money and one big pissing contest. the estimated 6 billion dollars could have been spent on many better things, but i guess spending 6 billion dollars on new facilities just to see who is the best at a sport is what is important in today's day and age.
**** competitions. what happened to helping out like... poor people or some other noble cause? oh yeah, doing morally right things does not create revenue. how stupid of me.

poor people live in vancouver?! don't tell the olympics or they may do what brazil is doing for the olympics...puting up walls to seperate the "problem" areas

Yeah, I'll watch it, but just the Snowboarding... "Oakley" did a Huge Favor when Snowboarding first went Mainstream and threw their own Competition, but now its just Worldwide Love! Go "Shaun White", although I perfer "Shawn Palmer"! I may be buying a "Technine" Snowboard soon! Oh Gosh, I spin a Sk8/Snowboard Nightclub! =)
