I bought a house near my job, i use a bicycle to get where I'm going. Keeping it on repair costs probably about 50e per year. Last year was above that cause i had to buy new winter tires. As my job is in an office, it also works as my daily exercise.

If a large portion of the population went without buying petrol for an extended period they would soon drop prices but it isn't going to happen. I could manage it I suppose, only take about half hour to get to work by bike.. Cycling in a suit has never seemed to tempting though.
It's about 1.14 round here as well (unless it's gone up again in the last week).

The CHEAPEST! i can find in my area is 116.9 (GBP) which is rediculouse! Its cheaper for me to take the bus everywhere!
To get to college it takes about an hour and a half on the bus, or 40 minuites in the car, but if its going to cost me like 20 or so a day, its stupid!
btw, it takes 2-3 hours to bike to college, tried it before ;-)

it doesnt matter what you pay in other countrys for petrol becauseits all relavtive
for instance - in parts of the middle east petrol will cost you 5c (yes, 5 cents a gallon)
is that cheap? no - because in those areas the people make about $100 a year. they have riots because petrol prices was going to jump from 5c to 7c
the only time it would really matter is if you are in that country - and getting paid from another country with a different exchange rate - and at that countrys COL.
i think petrol up here in the lakes is around about 111p? im not sure, we get a car at the end of this month though lol

No need, your wife told me herself.
Petrol expensive? diesel is now cheaper than petrol over here. Now that consumption is going up price is coming down. Plus diesel turbos are way economical. But if you really want economy? pick up one of those madass scoot/bike things. 5 litres goes 200 k's.

Which could very well have happened. It seemed to increase weekly by a pound round my way till settling on 110. I don't know what it's at now as i've stopped driving. Walk everywhere as a i only work 20 minutes down the road. I would get a bicycle, but i remember how much i hated cyclists when i was driving. Especially those ****tards in the full lycra get up with the silly helmets. Twats, you're not in the olympics, you're going 10mph down a dual carriageway in Oldham!

petrol here has skyrocketed in the last few weeks. over $1.30 per litre. I believe that is eqivalent to about 2 pounds per gallon.
